For 98 years, the Lidgerwood Woman's Club has been hosting the Honor Student Banquet, where the students are honored for high scholastic achievement. The banquet originally honored only girls; however, since the boys were only recognized at the Athletic Banquet, the Woman's Club began to honor them as well. Besides being treated to a meal, the students this year enjoyed listening to the guest speakers Kaycee Fuder, a Lidgerwood High School graduate, and Amy Cookman, a Hankinson High School graduate. They gave their audience an overview of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, how it operates, how it serves young people with illness, and how being part of the organization has affected their own personal lives.
The criteria for attending the banquet is that the student must have nothing lower than a grade of a 3.3 average and be on the school's honor roll in the first three nine-week grading periods of the school year.
